Between 2018 and 2020, 8–11 lakh students failed Hindi in Hindi-speaking States. In 2024 alone, 1.42 lakh students failed Hindi in Karnataka.

So before pushing Hindi on Tamil Nadu or Maharashtra, shouldn't we first ask: who’s actually failing Hindi, non-Hindi speakers or native ones?
