Calling India a “Hindu Rashtra” by belief doesn’t make it law. India is defined by its Constitution, not by religious assertion. If, as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat suggests, no constitutional approval is needed, then whose rights are actually guaranteed, and by what authority ? And if minority safety is raised as a concern abroad, why are constitutional safeguards being weakened at home under Narendra Modi’s watch ? Is this about cultural pride or about quietly reshaping the Republic beyond constitutional limits ?

ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ “ਹਿੰਦੂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ” ਕਹਿਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਧਾਰਣਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਦਾਅਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ। ਜੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਆਰ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ. ਮੁਖੀ ਮੋਹਨ ਭਾਗਵਤ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਸੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੇਠ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹਨ ? ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟ ਸੰਖਿਆਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਹੇਠ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਦਿਸਦੀ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗੌਰਵ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗਣਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਪਚਾਪ ਨਵਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ?
