With the Congress high command finally stepping in to address the continuing rift in Punjab, the immediate focus is on calming tensions rather than settling them. Repeated meetings, warnings, and interventions suggest that unity is being enforced from the top, not forged on the ground. Senior leaders continue to push individual agendas, and every controversy seems to reopen the same fault lines. As the 2027 Assembly elections approach, the real question is no longer about damage control, but direction. Will Punjab Congress be able to evolve a clear leadership consensus, shared messaging, and collective strategy in time or will internal management replace genuine unity until voters expose the gaps at the ballot box ?
पंजाब में जारी अंदरूनी खींचतान को देखते हुए आखिरकार कांग्रेस हाईकमान ने दखल दिया है, लेकिन फिलहाल कोशिश टकराव सुलझाने की नहीं, उसे शांत करने की ज्यादा लगती है। बार-बार बैठकों, चेतावनियों और हस्तक्षेप से यह साफ है कि एकता ज़मीन से नहीं, ऊपर से थोपी जा रही है। वरिष्ठ नेता अब भी अपने-अपने एजेंडे आगे बढ़ा रहे हैं और हर नया विवाद वही पुरानी दरारें खोल देता है। जैसे-जैसे 2027 के विधानसभा चुनाव नज़दीक आ रहे हैं, सवाल अब डैमेज कंट्रोल का नहीं, दिशा का है। क्या पंजाब कांग्रेस समय रहते स्पष्ट नेतृत्व-सहमति, साझा संदेश और सामूहिक रणनीति बना पाएगी या फिर आंतरिक प्रबंधन ही “एकता” का विकल्प बना रहेगा, जब तक मतदाता बैलेट बॉक्स पर इसकी कीमत न चुका दें ?
