When a sitting MLA like Dr Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi can openly switch from SAD to AAP, get government posts, speak in the House, and still wait endlessly for an anti-defection decision, what message does that send about the seriousness of the law ? And when Bhagwant Mann mocks the Opposition by comparing Sukhi to Congress voices like Shashi Tharoor and Digvijaya Singh, does it expose hypocrisy across parties or the slow death of accountability in legislatures ?
जब डॉ. सुखविंदर कुमार सुक्खी जैसे विधायक शिरोमणि अकाली दल से आम आदमी पार्टी में खुल कर चले जाते हैं, सरकार में पद पाते हैं, विधानसभा में बोलते हैं और फिर भी उनके खिलाफ दलबदल कानून पर फैसला लटका रहता है, तो इससे कानून की गंभीरता पर सवाल उठता है। और जब मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान विपक्ष को चिढ़ाते हुए सुक्खी की तुलना कांग्रेस के नेताओं शशि थरूर और दिग्विजय सिंह से करते हैं, तो क्या यह सभी दलों की दोहरी नीति को दिखाता है या फिर विधानसभा में जवाबदेही के धीरे-धीरे खत्म होने का संकेत है ?
After the BJP accused the Bhagwant Mann–led AAP Government of coercing MGNREGA workers, blocking social audits, ignoring recovery orders, and failing to provide even the promised 100 days of work, the debate has gone far beyond one law. If rural workers are getting neither jobs nor allowances, audits are skipped, and corruption cases stay untouched, is AAP opposing the Centre’s VB–G RAM G Act to protect workers or to hide its own failures in Punjab ? And when both BJP and Congress trade accusations using the same MGNREGA record, who is actually accountable to the worker standing at the job card counter ?
