When will the establishment take these critical issues seriously? Canal irrigation has decreased from 16 lakh hectares in 1990-91 to about 11.5 lakh hectares today, yet endless discussions on water recharging and groundwater depletion continue.

Why aren't these issues getting prioritized given these alarming statistics?
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has often promised to free teachers from non-academic responsibilities so they can focus on improving learning outcomes in schools. Yet teacher unions now allege that educators are once again being assigned survey work, despite the government inviting volunteers for the same exercise. The controversy raises an important question when every major government campaign eventually seems to reach the classroom door, are teachers truly being empowered as educators, or simply being relied upon as the state's most dependable administrative workforce ? As Punjab pushes ambitious education reforms, what should define a teacher's primary responsibility, teaching students or helping implement government programmes beyond the classroom ?
Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann have once again spent more time explaining who is responsible for Punjab's drug problem than explaining why it still exists. From Pakistan to Gujarat, from previous governments to rival parties, the list of accused seems to grow with every speech. The question many voters may be asking is simple after four years in power, are Punjabis still being given a diagnosis, or are they finally getting a cure ? If every road leads to someone else's fault, where does accountability for results begin ? And when leaders keep pointing fingers in every direction, is it a sign of determination, or a sign that they're still searching for answers themselves ?
