Since then, some prominent leaders have moved to other political groups, including Waris Punjab De, the Sukhbir Singh Badal-led Shiromani Akali Dal and the Aam Aadmi Party. That raises an important question: If leaders who left the Badal-led Akali Dal to challenge its leadership are now leaving Punar Surjit, how much political space can the faction build before 2027 ?

ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ (ਪੁਨਰ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ) ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ 2025 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਆਗੂ ‘ਵਾਰਿਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ’, ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ: ਜੇ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਗੂ ਹੁਣ ਪੁਨਰ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਦੂਰ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ 2027 ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਹ ਧੜਾ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਥਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਸਕੇਗਾ ?
