The Aam Aadmi Party Government in Punjab has repeatedly taken to the streets over issues involving the Centre, central agencies and opposition parties. Recent protests over Enforcement Directorate searches are another example, with the party saying it will use both legal and street action. That raises an intriguing question: When the party in power is also regularly protesting, is it using protest as a political tool or should a government be spending more time solving issues from inside the system ?

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ, ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਸੜਕਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਨਫੋਰਸਮੈਂਟ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟੋਰੇਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਲਾਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਹਨ। ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੜਕ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪੱਧਰਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠਦਾ ਹੈ: ਜਦੋਂ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਖੁਦ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਰਣਨੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ’ਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ?
