The BJP has launched a statewide anti-drug campaign, bringing in national leaders such as Nitin Nabin, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rekha Gupta and Manoj Tiwari. Manoj Tiwari has now been deployed to reach out to migrant voters from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. But here’s the uncomfortable question for Punjab BJP’s local leaders: if national faces are doing the talking, leading the rallies and attracting the crowds, what exactly is left for the state leaders to own ? And when election day comes, who will actually have the local network strong enough to bring those votes to the BJP ?

ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਤਿਨ ਨਬੀਨ, ਸ਼ਿਵਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੌਹਾਨ, ਅਰਜੁਨ ਰਾਮ ਮੇਘਵਾਲ, ਰੇਖਾ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੋਜ ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਨੋਜ ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸੀ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਅਸਹਿਜ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਜੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਹੀ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਰੈਲੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਭੀੜ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਆਧਾਰ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ ? ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਲਈ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਕਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ?
