As BJP National President Nitin Nabin says the party will decide on a Shiromani Akali Dal alliance "when the time comes", Punjab BJP leaders continue to send mixed signals. While leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh have openly backed rebuilding ties with the Akali Dal, others insist the BJP must first strengthen itself independently. The question is: Is the BJP truly preparing to fight Punjab on its own, or are its leaders simply trying to improve their bargaining position before eventually returning to the Akali Dal ? If the party is genuinely confident of forming a government, why does the alliance question refuse to disappear ? And if it still needs the Akalis in 2027, has the BJP really expanded as much as it claims ?

ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨਿਤਿਨ ਨਬੀਨ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਬਾਰੇ ਫੈਸਲਾ "ਸਮਾਂ ਆਉਣ 'ਤੇ" ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਰਗੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਹਿਮਾਇਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਕੁਝ ਨੇਤਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਮ 'ਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਕੀ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਚੋਣ ਲੜਨ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੌਦੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵੱਧਾ ਕੇ ਆਖ਼ਿਰਕਾਰ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜਣ ਦੀ ਰਣਨੀਤੀ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ? ਜੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਉੱਠ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ? ਅਤੇ ਜੇ 2027 ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਪੈ ਗਈ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਾਕਈ ਓਨੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਉਹ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ?
