AAP leader Manish Sisodia has claimed that 13,000 Village Defence Committees with nearly 1.3 Lakhs volunteers are active in Punjab’s anti-drug campaign. The number sounds massive, but the key question is visibility and official accountability. If such a large volunteer force really exists, why are there no public lists, IDs or district-level details ? And if this is a major state initiative, why hasn’t Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced it formally instead of the figure appearing through political social media posts ? Is the claim of 1.3 lakh VDC members real ground mobilisation or just a big number for political messaging ?

A) The network exists and will become visible as the campaign expands.

B) Such a large force should be officially notified with proper identification.

C) The lack of formal government communication raises credibility questions.

D) The bigger issue is whether the numbers reflect real action or election-season optics.

ਆਪ ਆਗੂ ਮਨੀਸ਼ ਸਿਸੋਦੀਆ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤਹਿਤ 13,000 ਪਿੰਡ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ (Village Defence Committees) ਅਤੇ ਕਰੀਬ 1.3 ਲੱਖ ਸਵੈਸੇਵਕ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਹਨ। ਅੰਕੜਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਐਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਵੈਸੇਵਕ ਦਲ ਵਾਸਤਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਜਨਤਕ ਸੂਚੀ, ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਜਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ ? ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਇਹ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਪਹਲ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਔਪਚਾਰਿਕ ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ 1.3 ਲੱਖ ਪਿੰਡ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਹਕੀਕਤੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ?
