Is this visit a genuine outreach rooted in respect and faith, or a carefully calibrated electoral signal aimed at reshaping Dalit political loyalties in a poll-bound state ? And when spirituality, state honours and election calendars align so neatly, where does devotion end and strategy begin ?

Narayanan and other prominent names from poll-bound states such as Kerala, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu being honoured. While the selections cut across ideological lines, their timing has raised eyebrows. Is this a sincere recognition of lifelong contributions or a calculated attempt to send political signals ahead of key elections ? And when national honours begin to reflect electoral geography, can they still claim to stand above politics or do they quietly become part of the campaign narrative ?
