Harinder Pal Singh Harry Mann has one of the most unusual political journeys in Punjab. Once handpicked by Sukhbir Singh Badal and appointed Punjab’s Information Commissioner in 2012, later made SAD vice president. Ahead of 2017 elections, he resigned from SAD to join Congress, hoping to contest from Samana. But even after shifting camps, his political graph never really took off, and in 2022, contesting from Sanaur, he finished a distant third with just 15.4% votes. Now, as 2027 approaches, the question is bigger than party-switching or ticket-chasing, did Harry Mann ever build a real political base of his own or has he spent a decade moving between parties without finding a constituency that actually wants him ?

A) Harry Mann might still revive himself if Congress rebuilds in Malwa and gives him a clear runway.

B) His past SAD tag and later Congress shift may confuse voters, limiting his 2027 prospects.

C) With SAD regaining traction and AAP holding strong, Harry Mann may again find himself squeezed out.

ਹਰਿੰਦਰ ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਹੈਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਹੈ। ਕਦੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ 2012 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਉਪ-ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵੀ ਰਹੇ। 2017 ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਠੀਕ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ, ਆਸ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ਤੋਂ ਟਿਕਟ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਪਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਗ੍ਰਾਫ ਕਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਿਆ। 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨੌਰ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਲੜਕੇ ਉਹ 15.4% ਵੋਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਰਹੇ। ਹੁਣ 2027 ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸਵਾਲ ਕੇਵਲ ਦਲ-ਬਦਲ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ, ਕੀ ਹੈਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਲ ਜਨ-ਅਧਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਦਸ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਹਲਕਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨੇਤਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ?
