But his switch to BJP in 2024 changed the script sharply. Tarun Chugh has remained one of BJP’s prominent Punjab faces, contesting from Amritsar Central in 2012 and 2017 but losing both elections. Despite those setbacks, he rose within the party to major national organisational roles and handled key responsibilities across multiple regions. His political journey has moved more toward strategy and influence than direct electoral contests. As 2027 approaches, the big question is whether Tarun Chugh will return to Punjab ground politics and test himself again in an Assembly election, or whether he is now more valuable and more comfortable in an organisational role. Is a Punjab comeback still possible, or has his career taken a different path now ?
