Yet instead of projecting unity, the exercise appears to have triggered fresh dissatisfaction, with senior leaders openly expressing resentment and factional fault lines refusing to disappear. This raises a larger question about Rahul Gandhi's leadership: Is the Congress suffering from a crisis of decision-making where every compromise creates a new rebellion ? If a leadership overhaul takes months but still fails to unite the party or inspire confidence, is the Congress confusing delay with strategy ? Has the party become so busy balancing egos that it has forgotten how to build a winning organisation ?

Beyond his own constituency of Qadian, when was the last time he visibly led a statewide public outreach during a major public crisis ? After facing setbacks even in the local body elections in Qadian, has the Congress forgotten that the Leader of Opposition is expected to represent all of Punjab, not just one constituency ? Is this shrinking political footprint one of the biggest reasons behind the Congress's continued decline in Punjab ?
