Punjab’s debt is projected to reach ₹4.47 Lakh Crores by March 2027, while ₹1.15 Lakh Crores of the state’s estimated revenue is expected to go towards salaries, pensions, loan interest and subsidies. With only about ₹11,000 Crores left for infrastructure, the Aam Aadmi Party Government faces a tough question: Is its welfare model helping Punjab or pushing the state deeper into debt ?
