With the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections approaching, factional tensions within the Congress have surfaced again. Bassi Pathana ticket aspirant Ranjit Singh Tarkhan Majra has accused former Punjab Youth Congress President Brinder Singh Dhillon of assault and abusive behaviour at the Punjab Congress Bhawan. Dhillon has denied the allegations, calling them baseless. The complainant has sought action from the party high command. With serious allegations emerging from within the party and both leaders presenting opposing accounts, what should be the Congress high command’s priority to prevent internal factionalism from weakening its 2027 election campaign ?
