With the Centre highlighting a record ₹5,673 Crores railway allocation for Punjab, claimed to be 25 times higher than the Congress era, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw publicly praising Ravneet Singh Bittu for closely monitoring projects, the political messaging is clear. But the twist came when Congress pointed out that Bittu himself was part of their system earlier, turning the credit-versus-blame debate into a question of political timing. If Punjab’s railway push is now being showcased as a major achievement under Ravneet Singh Bittu, the bigger question is: When leaders switch sides, do past shortcomings belong to the old party and new successes to the new one or is performance beyond party lines being selectively remembered ahead of 2027 ?
