Parminder Singh Brar has taken one of the more unusual political journeys in Punjab, moving from Shiromani Akali Dal to Congress and then quickly into BJP, where he rose fast to become a key organisational face despite being seen as a relatively younger leader. Once known for proximity to senior Akali figures and youth politics, he now holds important responsibilities inside Punjab BJP at a time when the party is trying to expand its base. His rapid rise has brought both visibility and internal resentment, raising questions about whether organisational elevation can translate into ground level acceptance.

Sarup Chand Singla has seen many turns in Punjab politics, from winning Bathinda Urban in 2012 and serving in government, to losing the last two Assembly elections in 2017 and 2022. After leaving Shiromani Akali Dal and joining BJP, his political journey entered a new phase, but questions over his electoral relevance remain. With experience, name recognition, and years in public life on one side, and back to back defeats on the other, 2027 brings a key test. Does Sarup Chand Singla still have another strong innings left in Punjab politics, or has his peak electoral time already passed ?
