Congress MLA Sukhwinder Singh tops the list with ₹15.17 Lakhs in TA/DA over three years, while AAP MLA Amit Rattan Kotfatta has claimed over ₹10 Lakhs. In sharp contrast, Congress MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh has refused to take any TA/DA at all. If official vehicles, fuel, and staff are already provided, why are private travel claims still being billed to the exchequer ? Is this just clever use of the rulebook or a quiet practice that normalises double spending while citizens are asked to tighten their belts ? And if some MLAs like Rana Gurjeet Singh can opt out completely, why can’t the rest ?
ताज़ा RTI जानकारी से सामने आया है कि पंजाब के कई विधायक यात्रा और ठहराव भत्ते के रूप में भारी रकम ले रहे हैं, जबकि उसी समय सरकारी गाड़ियाँ सुरक्षा एस्कॉर्ट के तौर पर उनके साथ चलती हैं। कांग्रेस विधायक सुखविंदर सिंह तीन साल में ₹15.17 लाख TA/DA लेकर सूची में सबसे ऊपर हैं, वहीं आम आदमी पार्टी के विधायक अमित रत्तन कोटफत्ता ने ₹10 लाख से अधिक का दावा किया है। इसके उलट, कांग्रेस विधायक राणा गुरजीत सिंह ने एक पैसा भी TA/DA नहीं लिया। जब सरकारी गाड़ी, ईंधन और स्टाफ पहले से ही मिल रहा है, तो निजी यात्रा के बिल सरकारी खजाने पर क्यों डाले जा रहे हैं ? क्या यह नियमों का चतुर इस्तेमाल है या फिर दोहरा खर्च सामान्य बनाने की एक खामोश आदत, जबकि आम लोगों से खर्च घटाने को कहा जाता है ? और अगर राणा गुरजीत सिंह जैसे विधायक पूरी तरह इनकार कर सकते हैं, तो बाकी क्यों नहीं ?
After spending all of 2025 fighting itself, the Punjab Congress now says the answer lies in “70 new faces” for 2027. Veterans who lost elections blame repetition, factions blame each other, and the leadership promises a fresh reset. But the real question is, where are these new faces, and if they really exist, why haven’t they been visible on the ground during protests, bypolls, or crises ? Can new comers magically deliver what senior leaders failed to do for years or is this just a convenient way to dodge accountability for internal fights and repeated defeats ?
