Did you know that, under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, agricultural land coverage insured across the country is 4,611 lakh hectares, but no one seems to know how much land is insured in Punjab?
More than a decade after the Behbal Kalan police firing and sacrilege incidents, investigations continue, new names are summoned and fresh promises of justice are made. Yet for many Punjabis, closure remains as distant as ever. This raises a deeper question: Can justice that arrives after years of political change still heal a society's wounds, or does delayed accountability slowly turn truth into another political battlefield ? When faith, justice and politics become intertwined, what ultimately survives, the search for truth, or the struggle for power ?
As farmers and agricultural labourers in Punjab continue to recover from crop losses caused by hailstorms and fire incidents, Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has launched 'Mission Sewa' and a wheat distribution drive with the support of the Sangat to help affected families. At a time when political parties often promise relief from podiums, this raises a bigger question: Is public service during times of distress the strongest way to rebuild political credibility ? Can initiatives like Mission Sewa help the Akali Dal reconnect with Punjab's villages, or will voters continue to judge Sukhbir Badal primarily by his party's record in power ?
