Amit Shah has blamed the Bhagwant Mann government for Punjab’s growing drug crisis. AAP leader Sanjay Singh has hit back, pointing to the ₹21,000 crore heroin seizure at Gujarat’s Mundra port in 2021 and blaming the former Shiromani Akali Dal–BJP government for Punjab’s drug problem. When drugs reach Punjab, everyone points fingers at the government in power. The BJP blames AAP, while AAP points to the BJP’s own record and the past Shiromani Akali Dal–BJP rule. Has AAP become the convenient scapegoat for a crisis built over years or is it using past governments to dodge its own failures ? If every party has an explanation, who will take responsibility for the drugs still reaching Punjab’s youth ?

Bhagwant Mann’s government has handed the Parvinder Singh Jhota case to the CBI following the family’s demand. AAP leaders call it a firm step against drugs but questions remain over the Government’s wider record. Is AAP serious about fixing Punjab’s drug crisis or has it become better at announcing tough action than delivering results ? Does handing the Jhota case to the CBI bring accountability or give the Government a shield against scrutiny ?
