ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੇਅਦਬੀ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਮਰ ਕੈਦ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਜੁਰਮਾਨੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਉਠਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਬਹਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਕੀ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲ 2027 ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਇਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਰੀਸੈਟ ?
