ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਇਕ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਬਣਨ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਵੱਧਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ, ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਮੰਦੀ, ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਪਲਾਇਨ, ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਸੰਕਟ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੂਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੇ ਅਸਲ ਅਰਥ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਇਹ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸ ਸਕਦੀ ਕਿ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਸਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਬਦਲੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਕਿਸ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਮੰਗ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਅਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੰਘ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ?

2014 ਤੋਂ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਫ਼ਾਰਮੂਲੇ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਏ ਹਨ, 2014 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰੁਣ ਜੇਟਲੀ, 2019 ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੁਰੀ ਅਤੇ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਤਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ, ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਰਵਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਵਰਗੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਾਇਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੈਣੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡਾ ਜਨ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ। 2027 ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਕ ਅਸਹਜ ਸਵਾਲ ਮੁੜ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ: ਕੀ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਵੀਕਾਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਰਣਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਨ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ?

Since 2014, the BJP has repeatedly tried different political formulas to crack Punjab, fielding Arun Jaitley in 2014, Hardeep Singh Puri in 2019 and Taranjit Singh Sandhu in 2024 from Amritsar, inducting leaders such as Captain Amarinder Singh and Ravneet Singh Bittu from rival parties, and relying on repeated outreach by leaders from outside the state, including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
