ਹਰਜੋਤ ਕਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਮੋਗਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਪਰ 2022 ਚੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਬਦਲ ਗਈ। ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਧਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਇਹ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾਜਨਕ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਉੱਠੇ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੋਟ ਆਧਾਰ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਪਕੜ ’ਤੇ ਸੀ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ’ਤੇ।
