With KC Venugopal indicating that a decision on the Punjab Congress leadership will come "without much delay", and after separate meetings with Charanjit Singh Channi and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, the suspense around the party's organisational reset has only intensified. Even as senior leaders publicly display unity, the final formula for balancing competing ambitions remains closely guarded. The question is: Is KC Venugopal merely finalising the new leadership team, or trying to prevent a fresh power struggle before 2027 ? If Congress has already made up its mind, why has the announcement taken so long ? And when the new team is finally unveiled, will it end factional politics, or simply move it behind closed doors ?
