ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਖਿੱਚਤਾਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ “ਅਚਾਨਕ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ” ਬਣੇ ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸਥਾਈ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਵਿਅੰਗਾਤਮਕ ਵੀ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਲਿਤ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਚੰਨੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਸੀਟਾਂ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਲਗਭਗ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਵਿਵਾਦਾਂ, ਵਾਇਰਲ ਪਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਟ੍ਰੋਲਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਚੰਨੀ ਐਵੇਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ 2027 ਦੀ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੌੜ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ। ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਮੰਨਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਚੰਨੀ ਨੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਅਵੇਦਾਰ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ? ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਏਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਉਥਲ-ਪੁਥਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਚੰਨੀ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ?
