AAP rode a powerful wave of youth expectations in 2022, promising jobs, opportunity and a decisive break from Punjab’s traditional political establishment. But four years into government, with unemployment still a major concern, the very constituency that powered AAP’s rise could become its toughest electoral audit. Can AAP convince Punjab’s young voters that the change they voted for in 2022 has actually delivered enough to deserve another mandate in 2027 ?
आम आदमी पार्टी 2022 में युवाओं की उम्मीदों की मजबूत लहर पर सत्ता में आई थी, जब उसने नौकरियों, अवसरों और पंजाब की पारंपरिक राजनीतिक व्यवस्था से निर्णायक बदलाव का वादा किया था। लेकिन सरकार के चार साल पूरे होने के बाद भी बेरोज़गारी एक बड़ी चिंता बनी हुई है। ऐसे में वही युवा वर्ग, जिसने आम आदमी पार्टी के उभार में अहम भूमिका निभाई थी, 2027 में उसका सबसे कठिन चुनावी इम्तिहान बन सकता है। क्या आम आदमी पार्टी पंजाब के युवाओं को यह भरोसा दिला पाएगी कि 2022 में उन्होंने जिस बदलाव के लिए वोट दिया था, उसने 2027 में एक और जनादेश पाने लायक पर्याप्त परिणाम दिए हैं ?
The Aam Aadmi Party entered Punjab in 2022 with a historic mandate and the promise of a different kind of politics. But ahead of 2027, the party is no longer the challenger—it is the Government defending its five-year record. Questions around governance, drugs, jobs, migration, finances, internal political tensions and controversies involving its leaders could make the next election very different from 2022. The bigger political challenge for AAP is whether it can shift the conversation from "what it promised" to "what it actually delivered." Has the party done enough to convince Punjab that it deserves another five years ?
