Having worked through student politics and organisational roles, former NSUI Chandigarh president Gurjot Sandhu was actively involved in campaign work during previous Assembly elections, supporting senior Congress candidates at the ground level. As the Punjab Congress now looks toward 2027 and talks of bringing in younger faces, the question is whether long-time youth organisers who have worked behind the scenes will finally move from campaign roles to electoral politics. After years of working on the ground, should grassroots organisers like Gurjot Sandhu be given tickets as Congress considers new faces for 2027 or will youth leaders continue to remain campaign managers rather than candidates ?
