The BJP has never won more than 19 seats in a Punjab Assembly election. Its best performance came in 2007, when it contested as an ally of the Shiromani Akali Dal. Now, the party is seeking to build an independent political base across Malwa, Majha and Doaba. With AAP and Congress facing their own challenges, the BJP sees an opportunity to expand its presence. But moving beyond its traditional urban strongholds will require more than electoral gains in a few regions. Can the BJP cross its 19-seat ceiling and emerge as a serious political force in Punjab or will its ambitions remain limited by weak grassroots support ?

Suggestions - SLAH

A) Anti-incumbency against AAP and Congress could help the BJP expand beyond its traditional support base.

B) Stronger regional leadership and deeper rural outreach could help the BJP break its 19-seat record.

C) Without a credible Punjab-specific agenda, the party may struggle to turn national influence into Assembly seats.

D) Even if it falls short of a majority, a stronger BJP could become a key player in a hung Assembly.

ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਚੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ 19 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸੀਟਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ 2007 ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੋਣ ਲੜੀ ਸੀ। ਹੁਣ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਮਾਲਵਾ, ਮਾਝਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਆਬਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਆਧਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਕੜ ਵੱਧਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੋਣਵੀਂ ਬੜ੍ਹਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਕੀ ਭਾਜਪਾ 19 ਸੀਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਬਣ ਸਕੇਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਪਕੜ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਸੀਮਤ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ ?
