Ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, the BJP has expanded its youth wing with new office-bearers and specialised cells covering sports, colleges, human rights, media and policy research. Other parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal, also have their own youth organisations. But beyond rallies, slogans and social media campaigns, are these youth wings creating a new generation of leaders with real political influence ? Or are young workers mainly being used as election-time foot soldiers while senior leaders retain control ?

2027 ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਇਕਾਈ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਅਹੁਦੇਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ, ਕਾਲਜਾਂ, ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ, ਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਨੀਤੀ ਖੋਜ ਵਰਗੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੈੱਲ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ। ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ, ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਯੁਵਾ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਰੈਲੀਆਂ, ਨਾਅਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਧ ਕੇ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਯੁਵਾ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਆਗੂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੋਵੇ ? ਜਾਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵਰਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਭੀੜ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ?
