Arvind Kejriwal has criticised the National Human Rights Commission over safety inspections of buses carrying pilgrims from Punjab, and the commission has hit back. The dispute raises a bigger question: when people travel for religious visits, should bus safety checks become a political fight or should every side focus on protecting passengers ? If the buses are safe, why should inspections become a controversy and if they are not, who must answer ?

Proposals - SUNLO

A) If the inspections found safety gaps, fixing them should matter more than political blame.

B) If similar risks exist in other states, the NHRC should explain how it selects buses for inspection.

C) The row risks turning a passenger-safety issue into another Centre–state political fight.

D) The Punjab Government should publish inspection findings and corrective steps so the public can judge the facts.

ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਚ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਆਲੋਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਪਲਟਵਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ: ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਚ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਬਣਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ’ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ? ਜੇ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਣ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜਵਾਬਦੇਹੀ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ?
