Since coming to power, the Aam Aadmi Party has repeatedly placed Shaheed Bhagat Singh at the centre of its political identity, from taking oath at Khatkar Kalan to invoking his name, image and idea of ‘Inquilab’. Yet Bhagat Singh stood for far more than a political symbol: he wrote about freedom, equality, exploitation, corruption and what India should look like after independence. Has the Aam Aadmi Party reduced his legacy to ceremonies, portraits and slogans while failing to carry his deeper political ideals into governance ?

A) Bhagat Singh’s legacy cannot be reduced to ceremonies, portraits and slogans.

B) The real tribute would be to address the issues he wrote about, not simply invoke his name.

C) Using ‘Inquilab’ as a political brand means little if governance does not reflect its deeper ideals.

D) The bigger question is whether the Aam Aadmi Party inherited Bhagat Singh’s political image more successfully than his political ideals.

ਸੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਖਟਕੜ ਕਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹੁੰ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ, ਤਸਵੀਰ ਅਤੇ ‘ਇਨਕਲਾਬ’ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰੱਖਣ ਤੱਕ। ਪਰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ, ਬਰਾਬਰੀ, ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਣ, ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ’ਤੇ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਸਨ। ਕੀ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ, ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਅਰਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਸੀਮਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ ?

ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਯੋਗ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ₹1,000 ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗ ਅਨੁਸੂਚਿਤ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ₹1,500 ਦੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ₹9,300 ਕਰੋੜ ਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਬਜਟ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਯੋਜਨਾ 2022 ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਾਅਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ। 2027 ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਇਸ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਪਲਬਧੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ, ਨਸ਼ਾ, ਪਰਵਾਸ, ਘਰੇਲੂ ਖਰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਕੀ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਢਾਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਤ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਵੋਟਰ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਮੰਗਣਗੇ ?

The Bhagwant Mann Government has rolled out monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 for eligible women and ₹1,500 for eligible Scheduled Caste women, with a reported annual budget allocation of ₹9,300 Crores.
