Sikhs make up around 57.7% of Punjab’s population, giving the Akali Dal a large voter base to fight for. But after the party’s electoral decline and the rise of other political voices, can Sukhbir Singh Badal realistically depend on Sikh support alone to make a comeback in 2027 Or does the Akali Dal still need the Hindu vote and a possible alliance with the BJP to build a winning coalition ? The bigger question is whether Sukhbir Singh Badal can rebuild the party’s Sikh support strongly enough, or whether Punjab’s electoral maths forces the Akali Dal to look beyond its traditional base ?

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਿੱਸੇਦਾਰੀ ਕਰੀਬ 57.7% ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਕੋਲ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਵੋਟ ਆਧਾਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਭਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ 2027 ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਲਈ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਮਰਥਨ 'ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ? ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਇਨ੍ਹਾ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਮ 'ਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਜਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਚੋਣ ਗਣਿਤ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਧਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ ?
