Days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Punjab, the AAP Government has accused the BJP-led Centre of failing to stop cross-border drug smuggling, ignoring Punjab's repeated concerns and even allowing an alleged gangster lodged in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail to continue operating a drug network targeting Punjab. With both the Centre and the State Government claiming to be committed to ending the drug menace, who should ultimately be held politically accountable if drugs continue to reach Punjab's youth despite shared constitutional responsibilities ?

ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੌਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਰੋਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਕਾਮ ਰਹਿਣ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਉਠਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਏਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਦੀ ਸਾਬਰਮਤੀ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਇਕ ਕਥਿਤ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਲ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਾਤਮੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੇਕਰ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਂਝੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਜਵਾਬਦੇਹੀ ਕਿਸਦੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ ?
