Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon, himself a former Congressman, has deputed senior BJP leaders to visit flood-affected districts across Punjab. Ironically, as a former Congress leader leads a statewide outreach for the BJP, a bigger question confronts Punjab's Leader of Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa. Beyond his own constituency of Qadian, when was the last time he visibly led a statewide public outreach during a major public crisis ? After facing setbacks even in the local body elections in Qadian, has the Congress forgotten that the Leader of Opposition is expected to represent all of Punjab, not just one constituency ? Is this shrinking political footprint one of the biggest reasons behind the Congress's continued decline in Punjab ?

Suggestions - SLAH

A) The Congress no longer appears serious about

rebuilding itself as Punjab's principal statewide

alternative.

B) The Congress missed an opportunity to reconnect with

people, just as Sukhbir Singh Badal did during last

year's floods and as the BJP is attempting now.

C) A Leader of Opposition must be the voice of the

entire state, not just one constituency.

D) If this continues, the Congress risks becoming a

ceremonial opposition while allowing others to

hold the AAP Government accountable.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਕੇਵਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ, ਜੋ ਖੁਦ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਹਨ, ਨੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੌਰੇ ਲਈ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਹੈ। ਵਿਡੰਬਨਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਅੱਜ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਹਲਕੇ ਕਾਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਵਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੁੱਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਜਨ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਕਦੋਂ ਚਲਾਈ ਸੀ ? ਕਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਟਕਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਕੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਇਹ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਦਾ ਨੇਤਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਹਲਕੇ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ ਇਹੀ ਸਿਮਟਦਾ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਦਾਇਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਪਤਨ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ?
