But Punjab is already one of India's most debt-stressed states, facing rising borrowings and mounting fiscal pressure. Every new promise may bring immediate relief, but who will ultimately pay for it ? If today's political promises are financed by tomorrow's debt, is the Government solving Punjab's problems, or simply postponing them ? Has governance become an auction of promises, with Punjab's future footing the bill ?

ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਭਲਾਈ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ, ਸਬਸਿਡੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਰੰਟੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਹਰ ਨਵੀਂ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਹੇਠ ਦੱਬੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਦਬਾਅ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵੱਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਨਵਾਂ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਰਾਹਤ ਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਕੌਣ ਚੁਕਾਵੇਗਾ ? ਜੇ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵੱਲ ਧੱਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ ਹੁਣ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵਾਅਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨੀਲਾਮੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਬਿੱਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਭਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ?
