After spending nearly 17 years in Delhi as an MP and later a Union Minister, Ravneet Singh Bittu now says he wants to return to Punjab and enter the Assembly to work directly for the people. He has even remarked that the BJP's senior leadership has packed its bags and is ready to travel across Punjab in pursuit of the party's 2027 mission. His statement has sparked an interesting political question. Is this simply the natural next step in Bittu's political journey, or does it also reflect a recognition that real political relevance in Punjab still comes from winning battles on the state's own political battlefield rather than from positions in Delhi ? And if BJP does decide to project him as a major face in Punjab, could an Assembly election become the biggest test of his political strength since leaving the Congress ?

ਕਰੀਬ 17 ਸਾਲ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਰਵਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਕੇ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣ ਲੜਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਦੇ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਜਤਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ “ਅਟੈਚੀਆਂ ਪੈਕ” ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ 2027 ਦੇ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਰਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਬਿਆਨ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਦਿਲਚਸਪ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕੀ ਇਹ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਅਗਲਾ ਪੜਾਅ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਇਹ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਮੰਨਤਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਲ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣ ਜੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਅ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ? ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਛੱਡਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਸੌਟੀ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ?
