Captain Amarinder Singh once left Congress claiming the party had lost its way. Years later, with reports of a possible return doing the rounds, Punjab politics seems to be coming full circle. After struggling to find a meaningful role in BJP, missing out on the Governor or major constitutional position that many of his supporters expected, and watching Punjab's political equations shift yet again, questions are being asked about whether old rivals may soon become old colleagues once more. If Captain does return to Congress, will it be a masterstroke that strengthens the party ahead of 2027, or a move that unsettles leaders who rose in influence only after his departure ?

ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਛੱਡਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਲਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਰਚਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਲਿਆ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਚਾਹੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣਾ, ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਦਲਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਹਾਲਾਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਅਟਕਲਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਮੁੜ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਇਹ 2027 ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਕਦਮ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਚੈਨੀ ਵੱਧਾਏਗਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਕੱਦ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਵੱਧਿਆ ਹੈ ?
