After Amit Shah held his much-publicised “Badlav Rally” in Moga, complete with preparations for langar for nearly one lakh people, a massive stage hosting around 80 leaders, and mobilisation from all 117 Assembly segments, the event was widely seen as the Bharatiya Janata Party formally signalling its push for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. With the rally meant to counter the political narrative of the Aam Aadmi Party Government and showcase the BJP’s strength on the ground, did the scale and messaging of the Moga event actually mark the party’s serious entry into Punjab’s next electoral battle ?
