ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜਾਖੜ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤਾਧਾਰੀ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ “ਡਰਾਮਾ” ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਆਪਸੀ ਮਿਲੀਭੁਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਅਸਲ ਜਨ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਾਖੜ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਦਾਅਵੇ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਤੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ₹20,000 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੀ ਆਮਦਨ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਅਸਲ ਆਮਦਨ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਘੱਟ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਫਰਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਕੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਜਵਾਬਦੇਹੀ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਦਿਖਾਵੇ ਦਾ ਮੰਚ ਬਣਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਆਮਦਨ, ਗੈਰ- ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਬਿਤ ਕਾਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ?
