For the past several months, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa has been keeping his political boots firmly planted in Qadian, holding frequent meetings and outreach in his home turf. But as a CM hopeful and the state’s main Opposition face, the bigger question is whether he is playing a statewide innings or just guarding his own wicket. Is Bajwa putting all his eggs in the Qadian basket because he wants to build a strong base or is the constant focus a sign that he’s looking over his shoulder and making sure there are no cracks at home before dreaming of the chief minister’s chair in 2027 ?

ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਈ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਰਗਰਮੀ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਕਾਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਈ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਬੈਠਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਨ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਭਾਵੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰੀ ਖੇਡ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਹਲਕਾ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਕੀ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਕਾਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਅਧਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਇਹ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਤਵੱਜੋ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ 2027 ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਪੱਕੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਰੁੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ?
