2007 ਤੋਂ ਮਜੀਠਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰ ਬਿਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਗਨੀਵ ਕੌਰ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਜਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਤਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਹਲਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਕਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਗੈਰ-ਰਸਮੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਿਆਂਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੇ ਕ਼ਰੀਬੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਤੋਂ ‘ਆਪ’ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ, ਹਲਕਾ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਬਣਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ ਗਿੱਲ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ, ਅਕਾਲੀ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਜਾਣੇ-ਪਛਾਣੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਚਿਹਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੋੜਣ ਦੀ ‘ਆਪ’ ਦੀ ਰਣਨੀਤੀ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ? 2027 ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਔਖੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਟੱਕਰ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ?
