भदौड़ में 2007 की आख़िरी जीत के पंद्रह साल बाद भी शिरोमणि अकाली दल यहां वापसी का रास्ता तलाश रहा है। 2022 में सतनाम सिंह राही को 21,183 वोट (16.91%) मिले, जिससे वे चर्चा में तो रहे, लेकिन वापसी से काफ़ी दूर। अब 2027 नज़दीक है और असली परीक्षा पार्टी के भीतर है। क्या अकाली दल ज़मीन पर धीरे-धीरे संगठन मजबूत करने के लिए फिर से सतनाम सिंह राही पर भरोसा करेगा या नए चेहरे की तलाश करेगा ? और जब सीट पर अब आम आदमी पार्टी का दबदबा है, तो क्या लगातार कोशिश आखिरकार रंग ला पाएगी ?

Fifteen years after its last win in Bhadaur in 2007, the Shiromani Akali Dal is still searching for a revival here. In 2022, Satnam Singh Rahi secured 21,183 votes (16.91%), enough to stay visible but far from a comeback. As 2027 comes closer, the real test is within the party. Will Akali Dal place its faith again in Satnam Singh Rahi to patiently rebuild ground or will it look for a new face. And in a constituency now dominated by AAP, can persistence finally turn into payoff ?
After Nusrat Ali Khan’s defeat in Malerkotla in 2022, just 8,421 votes (6.68%) as the Akali Dal candidate, and his switch to AAP in 2024, the Akali Dal has tried to reset its footing in the constituency. Zahida Suleman, appointed constituency in-charge back in 2023, is now the face tasked with rebuilding trust on the ground. But as 2027 nears, the real question is sharper. Is Zahida Suleman being groomed as SAD’s serious contender in Malerkotla or is her role limited to organisation while the party looks elsewhere for a “winnable” face ? And after Nusrat’s loss and exit, can Akali Dal afford to experiment again or will it finally commit to Zahida with a ticket in 2027 ?
2022 में मलेरकोटला से शिरोमणि अकाली दल के उम्मीदवार के रूप में नुसरत अली खान को सिर्फ 8,421 वोट (6.68%) मिले और हार के बाद उन्होंने 2024 में आम आदमी पार्टी जॉइन कर ली। इसके बाद अकाली दल ने हलके में अपनी रणनीति दोबारा सेट करने की कोशिश की। 2023 में हलका इंचार्ज बनाई गईं ज़ाहिदा सुलैमान अब ज़मीनी स्तर पर संगठन को संभालने का चेहरा हैं। लेकिन 2027 नज़दीक आते ही सवाल और तीखा हो गया है। क्या ज़ाहिदा सुलैमान को मलेरकोटला से अकाली दल की गंभीर उम्मीदवार के तौर पर तैयार किया जा रहा है या फिर उनकी भूमिका सिर्फ संगठन तक सीमित रहेगी और पार्टी किसी “जिताऊ” चेहरे की तलाश करेगी ? नुसरत की हार और विदाई के बाद, क्या अकाली दल फिर से प्रयोग करेगा या 2027 में ज़ाहिदा को टिकट देकर साफ़ फैसला लेगा ?
