जब पंजाब की ग्रामीण महिलाओं में से लगभग 40% हाईपरटेंशन से पीड़ित हैं, तो यह सिर्फ़ एक मेडिकल रिपोर्ट नहीं, बल्कि शासन की परीक्षा है। ये महिलाएँ ज़्यादा मेहनत कर रही हैं, तेज़ी से बूढ़ी हो रही हैं और चुपचाप बीमार पड़ रही हैं, जबकि नीति का फोकस अब भी नकद योजनाओं और घोषणाओं पर टिका है। अगर अमृतसर और लुधियाना जैसे ज़िलों में, खासकर अशिक्षित और मज़दूरी करने वाली महिलाओं में हाईपरटेंशन बढ़ रहा है, तो नियमित स्क्रीनिंग, पोषण परामर्श और गांव-स्तरीय रोकथाम राजनीतिक प्राथमिकता क्यों नहीं है ?क्या पंजाब सरकार महिलाओं के स्वास्थ्य को सच में अहम मुद्दा मान रही है या फिर चुनाव आने पर याद आने वाला विषय ?
