Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, a sitting MLA from Phillaur and third-generation Congressman, returned to the Congress fold in June 2025 after his suspension was revoked, more than a year after being shown the door for opposing the party’s Lok Sabha strategy and openly questioning Charanjit Singh Channi’s candidature. His mother had even crossed over to the BJP during the fallout. Now that he is back, publicly welcomed as “dyed-in-the-wool Congressman,”, is this reunion a sign of genuine reconciliation and unity within Congress or proof that electoral compulsions matter more than discipline when 2027 is on the horizon ?
