Iqbal Singh Jhundan is a two-time MLA, from Dhuri (2007–2012) and Amargarh (2012–2017), but he has not won an election since. He lost the 2022 Assembly election, was still trusted by the Akali Dal to contest Sangrur Lok Sabha in 2024, and lost again. After that defeat, he joined a rebel Akali group that has so far failed to show any real political break through. So the real question now is, can Iqbal Singh Jhundan play a meaningful role in building Panthic unity or have repeated defeats and rebel politics pushed him toward the sidelines of Akali politics ?

इक़बाल सिंह झूंदा दो बार विधायक रह चुके हैं, धूरी से (2007–2012) और अमरगढ़ से (2012–2017), लेकिन इसके बाद वह कोई चुनाव नहीं जीत पाए। 2022 का विधानसभा चुनाव वह हार गए। इसके बावजूद अकाली दल ने उन पर भरोसा जताते हुए 2024 में संगरूर लोकसभा सीट से उम्मीदवार बनाया, जहां उन्हें एक और हार का सामना करना पड़ा। इसके बाद झूंदा एक बाग़ी अकाली गुट में शामिल हो गए, जो अब तक कोई ठोस राजनीतिक सफलता नहीं दिखा पाया है। तो अब असली सवाल यह है, क्या इक़बाल सिंह झूंदा पंथक एकता बनाने में कोई अहम भूमिका निभा सकते हैं या फिर लगातार हार और बाग़ी राजनीति ने उन्हें अकाली राजनीति के हाशिये पर धकेल दिया है ?
Jeet Mohinder Singh fought the 2022 Assembly election from Talwandi Sabo on an Akali Dal ticket, secured 33,501 votes (25.7%), and still lost. In 2023, he joined the Congress. In 2024, Congress made a high-stakes move by fielding him from Bathinda in the Lok Sabha election. The bet failed, and the party suffered a clear defeat. After two back-to-back losses, the key question now is this, can Congress project him as its face from Talwandi Sabo in 2027, sidelining Khushbaz Singh Jattana ? Or will he look to switch sides again, possibly returning to the Akali Dal ?
जीत मोहिंदर सिंह ने 2022 का विधानसभा चुनाव तलवंडी साबो से अकाली दल के टिकट पर लड़ा। उन्हें 33,501 मत (25.7%) मिले, लेकिन फिर भी उन्हें हार का सामना करना पड़ा। 2023 में उन्होंने अकाली दल छोड़कर कांग्रेस का दामन थाम लिया। 2024 के लोकसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस ने बड़ा दांव खेलते हुए उन्हें बठिंडा से मैदान में उतारा। यह दांव पूरी तरह नाकाम रहा और कांग्रेस को साफ़ हार झेलनी पड़ी। अब लगातार दो चुनाव हारने के बाद असली सवाल यह है, क्या कांग्रेस 2027 में तलवंडी साबो से उन्हें अपना चेहरा बनाएगी और खुशबाज सिंह जट्टाना को किनारे करेगी या वह एक बार फिर पाला बदलने की राह चुनेंगे और अकाली दल की ओर लौट सकते हैं ?
