Sucha Singh Langah was once the most formidable Akali face in Dera Baba Nanak, giving tough fights to Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa in 2012 and 2017, even though he lost both times. But his rise collapsed overnight after the 2017 scandal and completely wiped him out of Punjab politics. After being acquitted in 2018 and receiving religious reprieve in 2022, the SAD has now brought him back as Gurdaspur district president, while his son Sonu Langah has been appointed constituency in-charge of Dera Baba Nanak. Is SAD preparing Sucha Singh Langah himself for a dramatic 2027 return or is the party actually grooming Sonu Langah as the next-generation face, using his father’s comeback only as a political launchpad ?

ਸੁੱਚਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਲੰਗਾਹ ਕਦੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਸਨ। 2012 ਅਤੇ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਚੁਣਾਵੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵਾਰ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ। ਪਰ 2017 ਦੇ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਇੱਕ ਪਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ। 2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਹਿਮ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੁਣ SAD ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੋਨੂ ਲੰਗਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਹਲਕਾ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ, ਕੀ SAD 2027 ਲਈ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਲੰਗਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਅਸਲ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਸੋਨੂ ਲੰਗਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਮੰਚ ਹੈ ?
