Bikramjit Inder Singh Chahal joined the BJP after the Punjab Lok Congress merged into it, stepping into a new party right after his poor 2022 performance in Sanaur, where he finished far behind the main contenders. Now, with BJP still struggling to find a realistic foothold in the constituency, the real question is: does Chahal’s 2022 defeat make him a liability for BJP or will the party still consider him its face for Sanaur simply because it has no stronger local option ?

A) BJP may still field Chahal in 2027 because he’s already been a candidate once.

B) His weak 2022 performance may push BJP to avoid repeating him.

C) BJP might use Chahal only to build an organisation in Sanaur, not necessarily as its final candidate.

D) BJP may quietly keep him in the fold, but look elsewhere for a winnable candidate.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲੋਕ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਲੇਵੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਿਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਪਰ 2022 ਦੀ ਸਨੌਰ ਚੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਰਹੇ, ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਦਾ ਰੋੜਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਤ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਨੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਪੱਕਾ ਵੋਟ–ਅਧਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਤਾਂ ਅਸਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਕੀ ਚਾਹਲ ਦੀ 2022 ਦੀ ਹਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਲਈ ਬੋਝ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਸਨੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਜਬੂਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਰੇਗੀ ?
