With the Hon'ble High Court refusing Bikram Singh Majithia’s bail, the Akali Dal has lost its most aggressive voice, the leader who never backed down from a political clash. Yet, even with Majithia behind bars, it is Sukhbir Singh Badal who is now leading dharnas (protests), confronting the Government, and making noise on issues where the Congress, the actual Opposition, has gone silent. Here the uncomfortable question is: has Sukhbir Badal become the only active Opposition face in Punjab, while the Congress watches from the sidelines and forgets it is supposed to fight the Government, not just fight each other ?

Proposals - SUNLO

A) Sukhbir Badal is filling a vacuum left not only by Majithia, but also by a quiet and divided Congress.

B) Congress’s inactivity has allowed SAD to look like the real Opposition despite having fewer seats.

C) With Majithia missing and Congress missing-in-action, Sukhbir has had to double his efforts.

D) With Congress missing, Sukhbir’s voice may be the only one left on the battlefield.
