Jagbir Singh Brar has moved through almost every major political party in Punjab, starting from SAD, then joining PPP, then shifting to Congress, later returning to SAD, then switching to AAP, and finally landing in the BJP, making it his fifth party in 14 years. He first won Jalandhar Cantt in 2007 on SAD ticket, and later contested Nakodar as the INC candidate in 2017, but lost. In 2022, he fought from Jalandhar Cantt on SAD ticket again, but lost again. In 2024, he joined BJP that added another twist to political journey. With the 2027 election coming closer, will the BJP actually trust Jagbir Singh Brar as its face from Nakodar, or will his long list of party switches make the party think twice ?

ਜਗਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਰਾੜ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਲਗਭਗ ਹਰ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ, SAD ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ, ਫਿਰ PPP, ਫਿਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੁੜ SAD, ਫਿਰ 'ਆਪ' (AAP) ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਭਾਜਪਾ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ 14 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ‘ਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ। 2007 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ SAD ਦੀ ਟਿਕਟ ‘ਤੇ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਕੈਂਟ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਨਕੋਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਲੜੇ, ਪਰ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ। 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ SAD ਟਿਕਟ ‘ਤੇ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਕੈਂਟ ਤੋਂ ਲੜੇ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਹਾਰ ਮਿਲੀ। 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਜਪਾ ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਸਫ਼ਰ ‘ਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਮੋੜ ਆ ਗਿਆ। ਹੁਣ 2027 ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨਕੋਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਰਾੜ ‘ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਣ ‘ਤੇ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰੇਗੀ ?
