Jasbir Singh Garhi, Former Punjab BSP State President, BSP’s candidate from Phagwara in 2022 (when BSP and Akali Dal were allies), and currently Chairman of the Punjab SC Commission, was expelled from BSP in 2023, for speaking against party leaders. In January, 2025, he joined AAP in the presence of CM Bhagwant Mann, praising the party for protecting the oppressed and saying BSP failed Ambedkar’s vision. Now that Garhi is in AAP, will the party give him the Phagwara ticket, possibly leaving Joginder Singh Mann aside or is it still uncertain ?

A) AAP may give Garhi the Phagwara ticket, sidelining Joginder Singh Mann.

B) The party may wait and assess ground support before deciding.

C) Garhi’s SC Commission post strengthens his profile, but AAP may still prefer an existing local worker.

D) Garhi may remain a symbolic Dalit leader without a ticket for now.
