दशकों से भाजपा पट्टी में एक प्रतीकात्मक मौजूदगी भी नहीं बना पाई, वह सीट जहाँ उसने कभी अपना उम्मीदवार तक नहीं उतारा, हमेशा गठबंधन और उधारी गतिविधियों पर चलती रही। लेकिन 2027 नज़दीक आते ही पार्टी ने विकास अभियान, नई ट्रेन सेवाएँ, मंत्री दौरों और आर.एस.एस. जुड़े संपर्क कार्यक्रमों का सहारा लेकर अचानक इस इलाके में “पकड़” बनाने की कोशिश तेज़ कर दी है। असली सवाल यह है: क्या ये आख़िरी समय के "विकास के वादे" भाजपा के लिए पट्टी का दरवाज़ा खोल सकते हैं या फिर पार्टी अब भी एक बाहरी खिलाड़ी है जिसे यह इलाक़ा अपनी राजनीति में स्वीकारने को तैयार नहीं?

For decades, the BJP has failed to make even a symbolic dent in Patti, a constituency where it has never dared to field its own candidate, relying instead on alliances and borrowed ground strength. Sanjiv Khanna, BJP’s candidate in Dera Bassi, got a modest share of votes in 2022, as AAP surged ahead and Akali Dal’s hold weakened. With BJP being a smaller player here historically,the big question for 2027 is, can Khanna and BJP increase their presence, or will Dera Bassi remain dominated by AAP and Congress rivals?
