कपूरथला में आख़िरी बार अकाली दल 1997 में जीता था। उसके बाद से यह सीट लगभग राणा गुरजीत सिंह के परिवार का क़िला बनी रही। अब 2027 आते ही सवाल यह नहीं है कि कौन जीतेगा बल्कि यह कि क्या सुखबीर सिंह बादल कपूरथला में सच में लड़ाई लड़ेंगे या सिर्फ़ नाम दर्ज करवाने आएंगे? 2027 में अकाली दल कपूरथला में क्या करेगा?

Kapurthala has not elected the Shiromani Akali Dal since 1997. Since then, the seat has functioned almost like a fortress of Rana Gurjeet Singh’s family, with no real threat challenging their hold. As 2027 approaches, the curiosity is less about who will win and more about whether Shiromani Akali Dal lead by Sukhbir Singh Badal even plans to seriously contest Kapurthala this time.
